Finland has one of the best performing educational systems in the world as well as in Europe. This has been a popular destination for international students who really want to study in Europe.

So usually in Finland, their application for admissions are open in January and it is not open for too long. It opens approximately within three weeks for you to be able to apply for admission.

Just also note that if you want to apply through Study Info during this joint application, you’re able to apply to up to six programs on one application. Finland is a very great country and also a good thing that they also offer scholarships.

Another thing is that if you apply for admission to this school, you would also not need to show any form of English proficiency test. If you are applying for any of their degrees, you are required to show English proficiency test. However, in this particular school, they have it waived for some certain reasons.

Usually, you are supposed to show either your TOEFL, your IELTS, your PTE, and all that requirement that the school requires from you. However, they have exceptions for some students who need to provide English proficiency test through an alternative means.

Here is what they say about that:

A language test is not required if you have completed your bachelor’s degree or your master’s degree or higher degree in English language in an EU country or in any of the following countries. So if you are from any of these countries, you will not need to demonstrate any English language proficiency test. That is if you are from countries like Nigeria, Malawi, Ghana, Gambia, Ethiopia.

So most of our African countries are eligible to apply to these schools without showing any form of IELTS. So what you need to show is that, so for you to demonstrate it, it says that the degree program must be taught and assessed entirely in English, which most African countries, they learn in English.

If you verify your language skill with your education degree completed in the above mentioned country, the language of instruction must be clearly indicated in the educational document. You can get an English language proficiency letter from a university or even your transcript as well can be proof that your study was taught in English language. So which is a great thing for you if you want to apply to this university for scholarships.

University of Tuku

University of Tuku also provides full fee scholarship that can cover your tuition fee if you need to study in Finland. The university offers generous scholarship program for students who are subject to pay tuition fee. The scholarship are awarded to the students in master’s and bachelor’s degree in the following category:

  • If you’re applying for a two years master’s degree, it can cover your entire tuition fee for two years.
  • It also has an option for it to cover 50% of your tuition fee for the two years of your master’s degree.
  • If you’re applying for a bachelor’s degree, it can also cover the entire tuition fee for three years of your bachelor’s degree or it can also cover 50% of your tuition fee for your academic degree.

So this is a great option if you have interest to study in Finland and it’s able to cover your tuition fee. These schools in Finland, they do not provide living expenses scholarship for students, only full tuition fee.

Now let’s take a look at the language requirement at the University of Tuku. You don’t need to provide an English language proficiency test. They have an alternative for you to provide that. So let’s take a look at what the requirement says.

It says that you are exempt from taking an English language test if you have a bachelor’s degree or higher degree or an equivalent degree in English language program in an EU or one of the following countries. So these are the countries that they have alighted that if you come from this country or you study at these countries, you do not need to provide any English language test.

University of Helsinki

This university provides scholarship for international students studying in Finland and also provides tuition fee scholarship for international students. You do not need to pay anything for your tuition fee. You only need to cover your living expenses if you get the scholarship. So yeah, it says that the scholarship offers up to 50% tuition fee waiver

Apply for a scholarship to this university, you can get full tuition fee waiver which is 100% tuition fee waiver scholarship that will cover your tuition fee or you have 50% that will cover your tuition fee. Just like it is for other universities, let’s see what this university says about English language proficiency if you need to study as an international student in Finland.

If you areh able to study in Finland without providing any English language proficiency test. It says that you only need to upload your degree certificate and your transcript when you’re applying for admission. That is the only requirement they need for you to be able to waive your English language proficiency test for application for admission.
